T-Mobile Signature Coverage Beyond Display
In Q3 of 2022, I was assigned to refresh the T-Mobile Connected Living display for our 6 flagship stores. The objective was to create an interactive experience that touts the expanded network benefits of being a T-Mobile customer. This included updated in flight wifi benefits, expanded international roaming benefits, expanded 5G coverage across most major interstate highways, and home internet via our 5G home internet product.
Before and After.
How We got Here.
Conceptually, the project began with an idea. What if we created a large scale experience that leveraged the iconic skylines and landmarks present in the cities of each of our flagship stores, while also speaking directly to our customers about the benefits

Each signature store already featured a dimensional icon relevant to the city the store was located in (ie: the Welcome to Las Vegas sign) that was paired with an expression of T-Mobile's 5G network. Customers and store employees alike responded very positively to his local expression.

From there I began to sketch out how we could create the experience using our Times Square location as our jumping off point.
Taking it to our Vendor
Using our Times Square location as the starting point, our vendor of record began to explore how best to express each local skyline and landmark, along with the suburban and rural environs. We settled on an approach that utilized 2D acrylic scenic flats printed using varying shades of our key magenta brand color, a 3D expression of a key landmark in that market.

We then explored how we could expand upon the concept using innovative technology and interaction methods. Through collaborative art direction, we settled on an interaction that included a movable digital "sled", paired with a printed SEG graphic that utilizes a series of panels of LED's to create programmed light animations. As the customer moves the sled, digital content on the screen, light sequences in the scenic flats, and the SEG LED light animations are triggered.
Designing for the Remaining Markets
Once we settled on the 3D and interactive approach, we then dug in to designing for the remaining markets, paying special attention to the 3D icon expressions.
